Backwoods Casting & Crafts, LLC is a small, independent jewelry business located in Billings, Montana. I specialize in creating unique sterling silver rings and jewelry with a rustic, meaningful style—including wedding bands, engagement rings, promise rings, personalized pieces, and everyday rings that tell a story.

My name is David Henneberry, and I was born and raised right here in Billings, Montana. 

My journey into ring making started when I was searching for my own wedding ring. Everything I found seemed to fall into one of two categories: a plain band that didn’t feel personal, or an expensive ring that still didn’t mean much to me.

So I decided to make my own.

What began as a personal project eventually became something much bigger than I ever expected. Since making that first ring, I’ve had the privilege of creating rings for thousands of people throughout the United States and around the world.

Every ring has its own reason behind it. Some celebrate a marriage or engagement. Others honor a loved one, represent a belief, mark a difficult chapter, or serve as a daily reminder of something important. That meaning is what continues to inspire me.

My designs are influenced by the rugged character, history, and natural beauty of Montana. I’m drawn to jewelry that feels substantial and timeless, pieces with texture, character, and a little bit of imperfection that makes them feel human.

Each ring is carefully cast, finished, and inspected here in Billings. Because this is a small business, your order isn’t simply another number moving through a warehouse. It is a piece I take pride in making and sending out into the world.
